Create Related Object

Create a record linked to this one

Create Related Object creates a record linked to the record the step acts on, through one of its relationships. For example, a contact's page can have a workflow that creates an activity already linked to that contact. The steps after it act on the new record.

Settings

  • Relationship: the kind of record to create, like "A Contact has many Activities". Only the record type's has-many relationships are listed.

How it works

  • The new record is saved right away, linked to this record.
  • Follow it with Open Modal to fill in the new record, or Set Field and Save to set its fields.
  • If a later step is cancelled, the new record is deleted again.
  • Create Object can also set starting values, and inside a related list it links the new record automatically.
