Open Modal

Open Modal shows the record in a modal, using a layout you design.

Settings

• Create Modal Layout or Edit Modal Layout: opens the layout the modal shows, so you can design it. The first time, it creates one for the record's type.
• Start Editing When Opened: opens the record ready to edit.

How it works

• When the record is saved in the modal, like with a Save workflow in its layout, the modal closes and the steps continue.
• Closing the modal without saving stops the steps, and undoes the ones before it. For example, after Create Object, the new record is deleted again.

Examples

• Create in Modal: Create Object, then Open Modal with Start Editing When Opened on.
• View Details: just Open Modal, to look at a record without editing it.
