Address
The Address field is a pre-built composite field for capturing full mailing addresses. It comes ready with the standard address sub-fields and lets you add optional extras like Address Line 2 or PO Box.
What it is
The Address field is Engine Awesome's built-in composite field for postal addresses. Instead of manually building a composite from scratch, you get a ready-made group of address sub-fields that you can extend as needed. All the sub-fields are configured and labeled for you out of the box.
Default sub-fields
- Address Line 1 - street number and street name
- City - city or town
- State - state, province, or region
- Zip Code - postal or ZIP code
Optional additions
- Address Line 2 - apartment number, suite, unit, floor, etc.
- PO Box - post office box number for mail-only addresses
When to use it
- Shipping addresses - where orders should be delivered on a customer or order record
- Billing addresses - the address tied to a payment method on an invoice record
- Business locations - physical address of a client, vendor, or partner company
- Service locations - where work is being performed for a job or project record
- Employee records - home address for HR or payroll purposes
Settings
- Label - rename the composite group (e.g., "Shipping Address" or "Billing Address")
- Address Line 2 - enable this optional sub-field if you need it
- PO Box - enable this optional sub-field if applicable
- Required - set per sub-field so you can require Address Line 1 and City while leaving Line 2 optional
- Conditional - show or hide the entire address block based on another field's value
Example
In an e-commerce order management app, you add two Address fields to your Orders object type: one labeled Shipping Address and one labeled Billing Address . On the Shipping Address, you enable the Address Line 2 sub-field so customers can include apartment numbers. Both addresses appear as clean, organized sections on the order form - your team always knows exactly which address is for delivery and which is for payment.
